MDA

The IAFF has fought to save the lives of those with neuromuscular diseases since 1954. In addition to campaigns like Fill-the-Boot, thousands of fire fighters nationwide volunteer their personal time at MDA summer camps. Thank you to all who have supported the Danville Firefighters who have worked to Fill-the-Boot to help those affected with MDA live better lives. We appreciate your support.

Danville Firefighters IAFF Local 429 in conjunction with the Friendly Tavern of Danville will be sponsoring our 15th annual Poker Run on Saturday, July 13, 2013.

The Friendly’s Poker Run started in the summer of 1999. This will be our 9th consecutive event with the Friendly Tavern. Our goal is to raise money for local charities. In the past 14 years, over $75,000 has been generated for charitable organizations such as; Shop With A Cop, Make a Wish Foundation, Faith In Action, MDA, The Family Readiness Group, Aunt Martha’s Health Clinic, The Danville Area Food Pantry, The Red, White, & Blue Child Passenger Safety Team, Project Success, C.A.S.A, Peer Court, the 40 & 8, and the Veterans Administration.

Every year, we have been consistent in organizing a successful event. In 1999, The Friendly started with a group of 80 motorcycles. Since then, the numbers have increased to over 500 motorcyclists with over 700 participants.

This year we are once again seeking charitable organizations to partner with in our community to help raise funds for their organization. By Clicking Here, you can download our Poker Tournament application packet. This application, along with the other necessary paperwork as described in the packet, must be completed in full and returned no later than March 29, 2013. To read more about the requirements of the applicant, please download the application.
